       Calm Heart   - 12/11/04

  • Live worth living is life worth recording.
  • Some people think as soon as you plant a tree it must bear fruit.
  • Freeing Time.
  • Deja vu. Three times this week. Interesting.  Could this be just a abstract match with something that had occurred? Or is this nothing more than the brain's marvelous ability to spot patterns?  Or could this mean something?
  • You're looking pretty good wearing that foil hat.
  • Can't identify what caused the feeling.
  • Doing a subtle favor
  • She has lottery luck.
  • Match of Opposites.
  • .

      RIP Dimebag   - 12/9/04

  • State of Shock. My condolences to his family, friends and fans.  I had a opportunity to met him back in the mid 80's when Jerry and I spent a summer in Houston. One of the many bands we saw play at a club called Cardi's was Pantera (This was when they were actually a glam band) I remember us sitting at the bar sharing drinks and listening to his road stories and thinking how fu*kin cool it was for him to sit and talk to us. Even though we only met he treated me like he knew me forever. He had some amazing and funny stories.. Little did he know what inspiration he was to me. I thought to myself if I'm ever in his shoes I will treat my fans like he's treated me. He will be surely missed not only a musician but as a inspiration..

       I Hate Parity   - 12/6/04

  • Nobody owns confidence
  • Suddenly the same old question has to be asked.
  • There's no question about that. Pretty damn impressive.
  • Smart in marketing. No part in selling mediocrity.
  • Try to win first.
  • Transition hasn't been different.
  • Modifying ideas too much you lose.
  • Suddenly nobody's laughing...
  • We have all been witness to something none of us wanted.

       I Me Mine   - 12/2/04

  • What do you mean by, "it explains a lot"?
  • The prospects for peace are like a new dawn where the dark clouds of destruction are replaced by the gentle warmth of the new days sun rising on the horizon and filling the land with light and hope.
  • One must understand the concepts of good and evil.
  • Look at what a person does by word and deed. Discern whether the person is good or evil.
  • A good person is good because they are nearer to God, for God is all that is good. The closer a person is to God, the more they are good. To be good is in a way, to follow God. To follow God is to be good and seek goodness.
  • Seek the good at all opportunities.
  • At least, at present, there is hope. What is said may to be true, but I have many doubts.
  • Antagonize and bait.
  • Target rich environment.
  • Rather moderate approach
  • Generalissimo Franco scenario.
  • The opportunity to take questions without notice and give an account of what we believe.
  • Like to have my say but  would also give equal time. That is called a conversation.
  • If I want world opinion, I'll go talk to the world.
  • Welcome to the world! Take a deep breath sunshine! Smell that? It is called reality.
  • How nice it is of you to collectively insult everyone for the comments of a few.
  • Realized that by coddling the dictators, it actually worsens the situation.
  • When you state a truth, state the whole truth.
  • Are people hypocrites and only care about themselves while calling others to care about them?
  • That should give you enough to think about...
  • .

      Iproprioceptionnsights  - 11/30/04

  • Happy Thanksgiving! Yes I'm a little late
  • Merry Christmas! Feeling better?
  • Unilateral action
  • Everyday is a fresh start.
  • Acclimating to rain
  • Answer is limited only by your imagination
  • 'a keeper' or 'a breath of fresh air'
  • Pulling on that stick attached to a chain hard isn't always a good thing.
  • Few hours to appreciate and a lifetime to master.

      RSS Feed - 11/19/04

  • Bottom Feeders.
  • SIRIUS. Got it installed awhile back and really loving it. Looking forward in listening to Howard Stern. Love having no commercials. None. Zilch. Zip. Zero. No more  hopping the radio dial in a futile bid to evade commercials.  Now that Mels aboard I think it's time to buy some stock.
  • Important to stay connected.
  • All in the details.
  • The Devil you know vs. the Devil you don't.
  • Self-belief and a twist of luck.
  • Not interested in anyone who short changes.
  • BOFH // n. [common] Acronym, Bastard Operator From Hell. A system administrator with absolutely no tolerance for  lusers. "You say you need more file space? <massive-global-delete> Seems to me you have plenty left..." Many BOFHs (and others who would be BOFHs if they could get away with it) hang out in the newsgroup alt.sysadmin.recovery, although there has also been created a top-level newsgroup hierarchy (bofh.*) of their own

      Last Word.....................Finally- 11/16/04

  • I'm not blaming the drugs but they certainly facilitate things.
  • Value changing drug.
  • Do you know your life?
  • Read this to get closer.
  • Difference between an autobiography and an unauthorized biography is like the difference between an account of your life written by your mother and one written by your mother in law.
  • Round because of gravity, which attracts everything to it's center..
  • Means toward a end.
  • Might not like that role.
  • Privacy. A simple concept- freedom from unwanted and unauthorized intrusion, and the right to choose how, when and whom one interacts in their private life.
  • Of course definitions are simple.
  • In reality it's more complicated.
  • Reach.
  • Can it be a competitive advantage?
  • Friend of a friend.
  • It's easy to wear two different hats.
  • When all else fails......
  • Stuff a Bronte novel is made of.

     We All Do- 11/14/04

  • It starts with a dream.
  • How much is this miracle going to cost?
  • Easy as pie? I love pie.
  • It's not about the quality of sound: Its about releasing that vibration that resonates inside you.
  • Value changing drug.
  • I look at those things now and I don't understand. I really don't.
  • Colors not expecting.

     Go Placate Yourself- 11/12/04

  • I think: Therefore, ( I think ) I am
  • Congratulations, crybabies. You went to the principal's office and tattled and now you're getting your way
  • People were eager to connect with the big picture
  • Directions that are being ignored to varying degrees by the other two dominant parties.
  • Over the last decade I've managed to tick off several of my life goals.
  • Well, I'm still waiting for the Do-What-I-Mean-Not-What-I-Type Telepathic Interface (TM)

  • What dollars satisfied a need, what dollars satisfied a want and which expenditures might not have satisfied either?"

  • You finally understand that the simplicity and the genius live next door

  • What part of no don't you understand?

  • In some paradoxical sense this may be a respite, a little break from life."

  • Thoughts into words that rebuild understanding with the people who matter most in your life.

  • There's a more subtle point embedded in here as well: bringing their best to work, leaving their bad behavior and marital resentments at home with their dirty sweatpants.

  • Opportunity that fuels the impulse calmer, wiser and ready to make decisions

  • Didn't want to mention it, but I got an email about a month ago, I answered back, and as soon as the deal closes I'm gonna be rich, rich, rich. Yesterday I wired the Prince $10,000 to close the deal and I'll fly to Lagos next week to pick up the cash. I won't be able to sleep this weekend...............

     Nope, not Dead- 9/27/04

  • Heh. I'll be catching up on my emails this week so if you haven't heard from me you will.
  • What a great summer!

     Chambre de lurve- 6/9/04

  • Do what you love and love what you Do
  • Optimistic, but always prepared for the worst Being cautious is not necessarily being pessimistic.
  • Despite grey skies, the temperature is rising.
  • Annoyed with the thoughtless attitude of certain individuals
  • This isn't just tedious.
  • My trip to LA.
  • Reading the work of Carl Jung can help hone intuition and instincts.
  • You can't reboot the internet.
  • Not wishing to afflict the afflicted.
  • Effort to reflect. Trust yourself.
  • One cannot make assumptions. Know what your getting into.
  • Not rocket science, but is close.
  • A ego is a positive attribute and promotes wholeness. No ego means very little life force and too much means a dictatorial personality
  • Criticism isn't worth the paper it's written on, and if it is, it's a compliment or proof of existence
  • Eating al fresco is a seasonal idyll which should be grasped when the weather allows.

       Termed- 6/4/04

  • I rather be a hour early than a minute late.
  • Important new friendships
  • If it's not in the Statement of Work and none of tasking require it, you're not required to meet those standards. As long as the task order has been satisfied, you have complied with the contract
  • Floating point numbers are not the best choice for storing monetary values.
  • Never stop giving your all
  • 'Personal time' for a relaxing respite is still an acceptable reason for taking vacation time
  • It all comes down to discretion

     Fear Not Found- 6/2/04

  • Saving me from worrying if the page will render properly in Upstart v2.6x on an even-numbered Tuesday immediately preceding the equinox.
  • GPS & Paint ball & Kayaking & Jeeping & Camping = Great fun filled holiday weekend!
  • Hollywood status..
  • Emails from interesting Nigerians all rich and separated from their money. One claimed to be stuck in orbit.
  • Most of my spam them are from Pacific Advanced, Sapphirex Access, and Instant Refinance. They either contain nothing or contain about 2 paragraphs of text from some random book of literature or their screed.
  • A liberal's compassion is limited only by the size of someone else's wallet.
  • Procrastination Pays Off

     What is Art anyways?- 5/25/04

  • Got my gmail account. Big deal.
  • Art is simply the manipulation of known sciences. Math (which is what music is based on)
  • Imagination is where the art comes in.
  • You and several others - should join a club of weeping school girls.
  • The client is a little more understanding when it's yourself.

     Adage- 5/20/04

  • As long as a fork is use for eating, the fork would last indefinitely. However, if one uses it to pull up nails or dig trenches.......
  • Make something idiot-proof, along comes a better idiot.
  • The sticky note password on the monitor - Ouch. A PDA in the wrong hands is a nice way to bypass the IT department’s hard work of adding firewalls, switches, and security software.
  • In some ways it was a typical breakfast meeting. The waitress was pleasant, the eggs were average, and the restaurant was full of busy people.
  • It's not a matter of intelligence as one can't know these things without education followed by reminders.
  • Out think them.
  • Another non-thinker is the consultant who gives a seminar and talks about a client’s problems in front of everyone.
  • Immense satisfaction from reaching goals.
  • No goals. No projects. No time alone. Consequently, this type of  job will suck the life out of you.

      Long Time Coming.- 5/13/04

  • If the inverting-core acceptor deflects the complex chronotron-feedback analysis, try to provoke a coil-composition reflex and several quantum biosphere resonances, this will create a restricted isovolumic cochrane graviton-prediction, which ought to in fact dampen the polarizing maintenance-filament formulas
  • Like that sock you can't find. Did the washing machine eat it?
  • Spent some time last week at Twin Anchors Restaurant and Tavern. Very cool atmosphere. Best ribs in Chicago!
  • Sure let me drop everything and work on your problem!

     According to Feng Shui....- 4/20/04 -  4/23/04

  • I am nobody and nobody is perfect thus I'm prefect.
  • Since the way one decorates has a huge impact on many aspects of life. If the environment is amid a jumble of haphazardly-placed furniture, chances are finances, health and emotional well-being will be just as messy. Cluttered and messy environment keeps energy from flowing properly. That's why I turned to being a minimalist.
  • Landlord
  • Start with a clean slate
  • Gain a renewed sense of clarity
  • Plants in your environment
  • Two for One
  • Avoid excessive overhead light and keep sharp-cornered objects to a minimum
  • Flexibility and the ability to meet demands
  • Dedication to "relationship selling". Put on Hold

     Guarded in Interactions- 4/16/04

  • Keeping out of the negative situations that arise, saves a great deal of heartache in the future.  The trick is staying true to yourself, getting the job done and doing what one can do to ensure that one is happy at the end of each day, even if it means biting the tongue from time to time.
  • This individual is downright nasty. Arrogant, condescending, and just not enjoyable to be around. Decrease the amount of interaction one has with this individual.
  • Realizing that you never know the whole story.
  • Crossing the line.
  • Misery loves company, and some individuals are just not happy in any situation. Complainers typically seek out others who will share their grief.
  • Life/Work Balance
  • My question to you.
  • What would you give up to follow your dream?
  • Time to give yourself the gift
  • Life is about more than work, and you'll make much better decisions when you are feeling well and happy.
  • Small blessings
  • Since September 11, been re-assessing  priorities and realizing life is too short to waste doing something or someone I don't love. Undergone a total re-focus in life because of this. No explanation or repackaging required.

       Bargain with a kiss- 4/15/04

  • Paycheck, Discipline and Time.
  • Ensure not just doing things right, but doing the right things.
  • Not easy but simple. It's not easy. But it's very, very simple.
  • The tortoise almost always beats the hare.
  • Systematic accumulation.
  • Dollar cost averaging.
  • Always deal with the boss for when you have to deal with the underling and then they have to sell the deal to their boss, they're not going to sell the way they sell for themselves when they want a salary increase.
  • Lets do some math.
  • So your a member of the “I want it now” generation"
  • The very idea of coexistence.
  • Never like the idea of "Going with the Flow". Just isn't me.
  • When you don't fight for yourself, the accusations must be true.
  • With a little planning and organization, you might find that things are much easier when you're not down to the wire.

      Apostrophe Now- 4/8/04

  • Pre-Internet age.
  • For all you Pretty Boy Floyd fans, new tunes will be available soon from this site and many others. Can't really say much at this time but these tunes aren't like those shit recordings that you can find else where. These are from the masters.
  • Johnny B will soon be  back on the air!!!  After a three-year hiatus from radio Jonathon Brandmeier is going back on the air--in Los Angeles!!!!  Brandmeier will be morning drive personality at L.A.'s Infinity Broadcasting-owned classic rock station, KCBS-FM.
We can begin hearing him at  the station on April 19. Who knows if Buzz Kilman will leave the Fat man to join the show.
  • Trading in the old with the new.

          Vote Nader- 4/5/04

  • Nader for President - - www.voteNader.org
  • Passion means being with someone who values what you have to give.
  • A beautiful Pair
  • Why England Slept. A great book by John F. Kennedy .
  • Stop looking for others to liven up your life. Maybe if you do it yourself you will find excitement.

       April Fools-  4/1/04

  • Purge them from my past

      Clock Cycle-  3/30/04

  • It's easiest to lie when someone isn't looking at you, and isn't going to have a potentially permanent piece of evidence proving your deception. A person's body language can be a giveaway that they are telling a stretcher such as talking quickly or changing the pitch of their voice and ouf course fidgeting.
The eye-contact belief. A good liar will make sure he does make eye contact. Pathological liars do this all the time.Shifty eyes are better interpreted as a sign that someone is feeling emotional, perhaps from a lie.
If the details change or contradict each other, you've been had. Also, if they pause a lot they are lying.
  • Find a mad scientist, have him build a time machine, go back to the spring of 1968.
  • I think this strategy is fine if you're 16 and your parents give you a nice allowance. But let's say you're an adult with a job and other sources of stress.
  • Change your look and change your life.
  • Result of their own procrastination
  • Basic black coaxing resonant tones
  • Embouchure
  • Chas out

     Pay yourself first-   3/24/04

  • Real measures of success.
  • Allure of completely unscripted days.
  • Dose of bear market reality.
  • Quaint notion
  • Limited Liability corporation.
  • Risk affects all aspects of your life. Risk without research is just another form of gambling. It's vital to do the due diligence required to accurately evaluate risk, the potential for gains and the potential for losses.
  • Most important asset is your ability to work.
  • Take everything you own and divide by two.
  • There are worse things than a fat paycheck. Not having the time to spend it.
  • Banks make a lot of money lending to people who can't wait to buy things.
  • Our lives get busy, our habits get more ingrained, we become less flexible.
  • Is it necessary? Is all that stuff worth the price? Distinguish between what is wanted and what is needed.
  • Appearances, convenience and immediacy.
  • Time isn’t something most of us want to invest. Instant gratification can rule the day -- and will throw a wrench into longer-term plans.
  • Ponder that.

      &*^%$#@-   3/16/04

  • If I watch my plasma TV, I'm watching either the Sopranos, The Shield or Playmakers. It's really to bad that Playmakers got canned.
  • Things I can do before I die- the very idea of a life list. Not a nebbish actuary's roster of deeds to be checked off—did that, done that, doing that—or a catalog of potential acquisitions both material and experiential, but a simple bundle of goals and attainable epics. An outline for a life well spent, without footnotes.
  • If you auger in. Swim naked.
  • Did this once already, years ago.
  • Yosemite's Camp Four, a walk-in campground that still charges just $3 a night. Can't beat a deal like that. Had nothing but a great time there.
  • Do a through hike leaving you alone with the night sky, stars, and unbounded nothingness. No critters, no bugs, no lights.
  • Be creative. Take a year off.
  • Able to glance at a mirror without recoiling
  • My Iron man training starts any day now
  • Enumerated a desire
  • I can never describe the walk back to my jeep.  But under the
    circumstances, I'd do it again.
  • Thick walls are important. I'd walk down to the stream, look around, and take a deep breath. Are you getting pieces of this? I'm cold, you said, staring at the continuation we had to feel through yesterday.(I'd seen something really weird. :) My job was to apply the formula. She wanted to know more.
It was cold and sweet. Suddenly, she wasn't there. And someone was  waiting for me, just around the corner. There's something I should tell you. That could well be the
answer. It was cold and sweet. My job was to apply the formula. It was time...
  • Situation:
  • Solution:
  • I don't know.

     Kiosks-   3/9/04

  • Consider the daffodil. And while you're doing that, I'll be over here, looking through your stuff..
  • You know if I had a dime for every email that I get from someone who wants me to send them free stuff..............
  • This is a long road, and should I walk down it, I might never come back.
  • Long list of criteria amid growing concern
  • Reasons for sabbaticals
  • Powerful vortex of inertia.
  • Don't do that, the cat pointed out
  • The way you walk with me so quietly, contentedly.
  • Rethinking vacation
  • When you're not working, a lazy, indulgent morning can easily lead to a lazy, indulgent day. And a lazy, indulgent week can easily lead to debt and depression.
  • Friends with benefits

    Trust Air-   3/5/04

  • Can't believe it's March already.
  • It draws flies. And these flies like money.
  • No fiscal impact.
  • I think it's great--aren't you happy?
  • Plans you believe in. Don't waste a day. THINK about what would make you truly happy then take the first step towards it.

     Subtle ways-   2/27/04

  • Making mountains out of molehills is a surefire way to alienate people.
  • Knowing when to stick with the rules and when to break them.
  • Hundreds of Eyes.
  • Amateurs hack into computers; pros hack into people
  • There are way too many meetings and I've got more important things to do.
  • Telecommuting can be a tremendous win-win but if you stretch it to its limits, you may blow the policy for yourself
  • Is it always all about you?
  • Serenity Now
  • Its just repeating what was said and NOT what was meant
  • Don't trust anyone without it being in writing. No more hand shakes no more giving your word.
  • You must write a product spec that defines everything your project is expected to accomplish and then get your  client to sign off on it in writing. The fact that you think you know what the application needs won't mean shit if its not in writing before you start. Someone, yes there is always someone, will want this small meger minor change, then there'll be the "just add this small feature" bits ...etc, etc, ad infinitum.......If its in writing and your time estimate is based solely on that spec do you have a viable defense against the changes everyone will inevitably ask for.  If its in writing, you can say "Yes I can change that but it'll take another 24 man-hours just sign here to authorize the additional time" ...but if its only in your head you can't use that because the requester will almost always say it was his understanding that that was how it was supposed to be from the start and its your problem if it needs fixing ...been there, never going back...
  • Vile verb, a noxious noun or an odious adjective.

      Endless Loop-   2/26/04

  • There is nothing like 'small p' politics within a government or semi-govern-mental agency.
  • I could have told her it could last a lifetime
  • That's like me taking my car to my mechanic  and telling them how long it should take to swap out my engine.
  • I've misplaced my mind reading glasses again.
  • Sometimes, functionality supersedes convenience.
  • Never really said what specifically the problem was, how it expressed itself, nor how it could be avoided.
  • Stepping into the function

      Bitter Party of One-   2/25/04

  • Regolith by definition
  • The generalized/accepted concept is still there for the 'masses' to understand or comprehend.
  • Remember, we are dealing with the general public who would hear words like 'regolith' or 'alluvium' and just say: huh!
  • Pan delirium
  • Bring them to your mind in a different perspective
  • Eternal rebel in life and yet you only know orders
  • Quality of  impact often matters much more than the quantity of activities
  • If you don't know where you came from, How do you know where you're going?

       Contradiction in terms-   2/24/04

  • The world breathes a collective sigh of relief

  • As David Lee Roth would say" Heard you missed me, now I'm back!"
  • I really like the new lime diet coke, my drink of choice now.
  • Back from a seven week journey around the world. Nice to be home. Now I need to catch up on responding to all these emails.
  • Disclaimer: No tree was killed in the creation of this message. However, several coulombs of electrons were temporarily inconvenienced.
  • Don't need any more self inflicted scars.
  • The benchmark by which we judge ourselves.
  • Advertising alone cannot build a brand. The store, the packaging, the staff, the service, the logo must all resonate the same values if the consumer is to be seduced into a brand's universe.
  • Econometrics directly measures the effect of  marketing communications on sales. This means one can calculate the financial payback from any piece of marketing activity, past or future.
  • Commitment to pursuing tasks to achieve often very tough goals.
  • Masterminding profound understanding of the people.
